As the creative possibilities of photography grow and boundaries are pushed further with the advances in digital technology, more and more people are being drawn to its artistic potential. Having been approached informally by several people keen to develop their photographic skills, I am now able to provide this one-to-one tuition on a more formal basis, tailored to each individual’s need. 

 

 

With this personalised approach I will discuss in advance with you what you want to achieve from the tuition so I can fully understand the areas you most want to progress in. The sessions will be structured around your needs to gain the maximum benefit for you. Such objectives could include – basic camera operation, refining your composition skills, mastering exposure techniques, using filters, learning how to use creative photographic skills to produce fine art images. The tuition will also look at post-processing your images for the best effects and enhancements using software such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik Software.

 

 

I offer a flexible approach to tuition location; this can take place in West Dorset (where I am based) or at a venue of your own choice anywhere in the UK.  I offer either half or full days.  I am a qualified teacher with significant experience helping pupils to achieve their goals. I will adapt my approach to suit your individual learning speed, style and level, whether you are just starting out in photography or are more advanced and want to learn some new skills.

Or you may prefer to have company and a guide to particular locations in order to practise certain skills and techniques. I can provide that service and I have detailed knowledge of a number of iconic photographic locations in the UK. Distance tuition and critique sessions are also possible.

The prices for tuition are based on working from and near my home in Dorset. If you wish to choose a location for the tuition I calculate my expenses at £35 per hour travelling time each way as a contribution to my time, fuel and other expenses.

This cost is added to the tuition cost.

 

 

For Full Day bookings I also include lunch and beverage (non-alcoholic) as part of the fee paid.
